Proclaiming the Everlasting Gospel of the Kingdom
Vital Words to the Body of Christ
Freely We Have Received, Freely We Give
Many times we have heard the expression, the handwriting is on the wall. This phrase is generally used to denote "all who have eyes to see should see what is going on." Truly we live in the day when it should be plain to see what is going on. In order to understand this, we need to look at the book of Daniel:
"Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand." Daniel 5:1
Belshazzar was the king of Babylon after his father, Nebuchadnezzar. He, like many politicians in modern day Babylon (the United States of America) threw a big party for thousands of his fellow politicians. He drank wine before the thousands. Today the politicians in Washington D.C. throw their big drunken, drug-ridden parties with their female companions, not caring how much money is wasted on their debauchery.
"Belshazzar, while he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzr had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein." Daniel 5:2
They brought in the holy vessels which Nebuchadnezzr had taken from the temple in Jerusalem. These vessels were originally dedicated to the service of God. But Belshazzar degraded these vessels by drinking wine from them. Only the priests who were dedicated to God were to handle these vessels.
"They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone." Daniel 5:4
They made a mockery of these vessels, and they mocked God by praising the gods of gold, silver, brass, iron, wood, and stone. These were the materials they made their gods out of.
"In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaster of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote." Daniel 5:5
This threw a wet blanket on Belshazzar's party. We are reminded of the Scripture the apostle Paul wrote:
"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Galatians 6:7
When man mocks God, or makes the things of God a mockery, then he has planted the seeds of his own destruction. This Belshazzar and his guests did when they defiled God's holy vessels. It is no different in our day. When the politicians mock God, they will face the same fate.
"Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another." Daniel 5:6
Belshazzar had learned a powerful lesson. The world and worldly people have this same lesson to learn. They will reap the same reward Belshazzar reaped.
"The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spake, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom." Daniel 5:7
Did we hear the cry of repentance from Belshazzar's lips? No, he wanted those around him who he had depended on for his counsel - - - the astrologers, Chaldeans (wise men), and the soothsayers. But they could not interpret the writing.
"Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his lords were astonished." Daniel 5:9
When God moves, those who do not know Him are always astonished because they do not know God, nor believe in Him. So they think He has nothing to do with their lives. When God moves upon the mockers, the usurpers, and those who think they are above God, they are going to be just as troubled as Belshazzar was. In desperation, Belshazzar called for Daniel:
"Then was Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spake and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel, which art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry?" Daniel 5:13
What had Belshazzar remembered about Daniel? When Nebuchadnezzar overthrew Jerusalem he told the master of his eunuchs:
"And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;" Daniel 1:3
In the time of Nebuchadnezzar, Ashpenaz brought some of the children of Israel who were of the king's seed, or the sons of the kings (princes).
"Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skillful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:" Daniel 1:4 & 6
Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah were their Hebrew names. But Nebuchadnezzar's eunuch gave them Babylonian names:
"Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach: and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego." Daniel 1:7
Daniel was given the name of Beltechazzar which means "lord of the straitened treasure." The word straitened means "narrow way." So Daniel was called the lord of those who walk the narrow way.
Daniel, Shadrach, Mishach, and Abednego were taken captive in 586 B.C. It was forty seven years later when Daniel was called, by Belshazzar, to interpret the handwriting on the wall. Daniel informed Belshazzar:
"But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of His house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:" Daniel 5:23
God's Word declares that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, Hebrews 13:8. So anyone, or any nation, who makes a mockery of God or His Word can expect the same fate as Belshazzar.
Then Daniel interpreted the writing on the wall:
"And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it." Daniel 5:25-26
The part of the hand did not write MENE once, but twice. When God says something once, we can be assured of it, and when He states it twice that makes it absolute. Belshazzar knew without a doubt his kingdom was finished.
"TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting." Daniel 5:27
Tekel was not a warning against Belshazzar's kingdom, it was against him personally. He, Belshazzar, was weighed in the balances, and found wanting.
Daniel never interpreted the word UPHARSIN which means "division or separation."
"In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain. And Dairus the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old." Daniel 5:30-31
This was the end of ancient Babylon and its kingdom. This happened on October 13, 539 B.C. This great kingdom came to an abrupt end. Why? It was because of the sin of the nation, and the way it had mocked God, and had shunned His ways.
We may ask, "Is it going to be any different for modern Babylon, The United States of America, and its church system?" In the church, there is so much confusion as to who or what to believe. The news media makes all religions equal with, or even superior to, the Bible and Jesus as our Saviour. The Lord awoke me and spoke the following Scripture:
"For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are Spiritually discerned." I Corinthians 2:11-14
Here, Paul reveals three realms:
The realm of the flesh
The realm of the Spirit
And the satanic realm
The realm of the flesh is governed by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life:
"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." I John 2:16
The Spiritual realm operates on faith, hope, and charity:
"And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." I Corinthians 13:13
The Spiritual realm operates on faith, `faith in God'. It operates on hope `hope in the promises of God', and it operates on charity, `agape love'.
The satanic realm operates in total darkness. Paul writes to the Ephesians:
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12
Our battles are not fought in the flesh realm. We are to battle against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places. The epistle Paul was sent to the Corinthians who were a church who did not understood spiritual things. Paul explains:
"And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto Spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye yet carnal, and walk as men?" I Corinthians 3:1-3
We witness this same carnal attitude in the church today. There is envying, strife, and divisions. All these carnal attitudes should reveal to us today's modern church is no different than the church at Corinth.
The Spirit of God is the life-giving Spirit which was breathed into man at Creation. When God breathed life into man by the Spirit, man became a living soul.
The spirit of man is the same as the soul of man - - - or the soul or spirit of man is the inner most part of man's being. All functions of the mind and body are controlled by the heart, or soul of man.
It is only by the Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit) that man can rise from his fleshly or earthly condition. It is only by the Holy Spirit that man can be emancipated from his fleshly condition.
The demonic realm with its principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places is what is operating in the earth today. It is in the government, in the people, and in the church. In His revelation to John, Jesus revealed the following concerning the church in Pergamos:
"I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast My name, and hast not denied My faith, even in those days where in Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where satan dwelleth." Revelation 2:13
Nothing has changed. Satan still has a seat in most churches today. And it is probably in the first row of pews. These are the rulers of darkness.
We witness the spiritual wickedness in high places when we see how the government rules its people. Government has only had one purpose, down through the ages, and that is to enslave its people. The United States now has a government that is working overtime to enslave its people.
The people only have one hope, and that is in Christ Jesus. He gives us His assurance:
"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." John 8:36
We can only be free from government intrusion into our lives when we stop depending on the government for anything. The government only has two tools to enslave the people: money and fear. When we come to the place where their money has no allurement, and we have dealt with the spirit of fear, then the government will have lost its grip on the people. As we begin to look at the words Paul wrote to the church at Corinth, we discover:
"For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God." I Corinthians 2:11
The spirit of man knows the things of the world. It is carnal, sensual, and can only understand what the fleshly mind can figure out. In other words, the spirit of man is not Spirit led. This is why the world cannot understand the true meaning of the Word of God, because without the anointing, His Word just seems like ancient stories that make no sense in this modern day world. In order to understand God's Word, we must look to the beloved John:
"It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life." John 6:63
With all their education and learning, man cannot begin to understand God's Word. All man's education and learning are only achievements in the flesh. And this will profit them nothing when it comes to understanding God's Word. The words Jesus spoke are first, Spirit; and secondly, they are life. Or His Words will produce life in those who are Spiritually led. Paul continues:
"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God." I Corinthians 2:12
Paul states, we have not received the spirit of the world! The spirit of the world is the same as the spirit of man that has no Spiritual understanding to receive the things freely given to us of God.
Those who are led by the Spirit of God have been freely given the things of God! How? It is only by God's divine Word. Those who capitalize on His Word are those who are truly blessed by God. The first sign of judgment is when God removes His blessings. This, He has done to the government, the people, and the church. The world has set out to destroy confidence in the Word of God, and they have done a good job of doing just that.
This attack on God's Word, and on Jesus leaves the carnal mind no where to turn to find the truth. So many end up doubting the true Word of God, and go about seeking `so called truth' in religions. Many believers who were void of the Spiritual anointing have lost their faith in God, and have turned to religion. Many are turning away from traditional teachings to the occult, because they are looking for signs. Paul wrote:
"For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:" I Corinthians 1:22
We must remember, Paul was writing to a carnal church, both Jew and Greek. What do these two groups of people represent? The Jews were the religious order of Paul's day. The Greeks represented the worldly, sensual people who desired knowledge. The same is true today. The religious orders are looking for some sign to make them believe - - - and the worldly mind is seeking wisdom so they can figure things out with their carnal minds.
Many things are presented to the religious system to bring doubt upon the Holy Scriptures. We may ask, "How is the world trying to destroy the Bible and the reality of Jesus as the Son of God?" They have come up with some so-called ancient writings. One of these is called the Gospel of Mary. This was supposed to have been written by Mary Magdalene. In this false gospel, Jesus was supposed to have had an affair with Mary, even bearing Him children. This was to show Jesus was simply man. Since they were not married, this would make Him a fornicator. This would make Jesus no different from any other sinful man, not the Son of God without sin, as the Bible plainly states several times. This so-called gospel of Mary makes the following Scripture a lie:
"For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Hebrews 4:15
Casting doubt on the Bible leaves many confused. They forget the following Scripture:
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" II Timothy 3:16
The pure Word of God is our instructor, but many do not read the Bible. They depend on the pulpit for their instruction.
The second false gospel some are trying to piece together is called the Gospel of Judas. This is supposed to have been written by Judas Iscariot, and states that Judas did not betray Jesus, but was acting on Jesus' orders to reveal Him to the Romans. These are spending millions to discredit the Gospel of Christ.
The question we need to ask is: If Judas was acting on Jesus' orders, then why did he hang himself? What about the thirty pieces of silver he returned, and threw at the feet of the religious order who had paid him? What of the prophecies in the Old Testament of Jesus' betrayal? What about the words of Jesus at the Last Supper concerning the one who would betray Him? All these so-called ancient writings are only to tear down the Bible and Jesus, casting a veil of doubt on the Word of God. Those who are constantly trying to cast doubt on the Word of God remind us of Paul's letter to the Galatians:
"I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ." Galatians 1:6-7
This is exactly what these unbelievers have done to the Word of God. They pervert the Word to show how intelligent they are. Instead, they only prove they are fools. Paul continues his revelation to the Galatians:
"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." Galatians 1:8
Even if an angel were to speak these things to us, we are not to believe them. And if a man teach any other gospel, God says, "Let him be accursed." The word accursed means "a person doomed to destruction." Paul not only wrote this once, but twice.
"As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." Galatians 1:9
There should be no doubt as to the fate of those who pervert God's Word.
Now some are saying the picture of The Last Supper by De Vince shows Mary Magdalene next to Jesus, making Mary one of the twelve disciples. These are lies and falsehoods to bring doubt and discredit God and His Word.
Some are also saying David's stone did not kill Goliath, but he died and dropped dead of some disease. They explain away every miracle, every Spiritual act, and every event recorded in the Bible.
Some are trying to make us believe that when Moses went up into the Mount, he entered into a flying saucer to receive the ten commandments. The list goes on and on. Every miracle, every thing that proves God's existence has been tainted by the carnal mind. Such attacks were unheard of just a few years ago, but are now rampant because science has to prove it knows more than God. Paul wrote to Timothy about this:
"O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee Amen." I Timothy 6:20-21
This nation has erred concerning the faith, and so has the church.
Paul continues his revelation to the Corinthians:
"Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth: comparing spiritual things with spiritual." I Corinthians 2:13
There is only one way to distinguish that which is carnal from that which is Spiritual, and that is by the knowledge we receive from God's Word. The Holy Ghost is our teacher. When we are in tune with the Holy Spirit, then we can discern what the Spirit speaks, and compare it with man's wisdom. This is the only way we can discern between good and evil.
Science and man's wisdom has denied God and the need for His direction in our lives. Man's existence without God is without hope - - - no future - - - no past - - - just an every day mundane existence.
"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are Spiritually discerned." I Corinthians 2:14
The natural man cannot, nor does he receive or understand the things of God, because he only has a natural mind and his understanding of Spiritual things is null and void. He does not have the Spirit of God. Paul wrote to the Romans:
"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His." Romans 8:9
Those who do not have the Spirit of Christ indwelling, are none of His. So how does this relate to those who are trying with everything they have, to discredit the Word of God? Are they doing it by the Spirit, or are they doing it by science and man's wisdom? If they were doing it by the Spirit, then they would know by the Spirit that what is written in God's Word is true, and would not question it. Paul prefaced what he said with this:
"For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be Spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God." Romans 8:5-8
Those operating with the carnal mind are simply minding the things of the flesh which is death. Their carnal mind has become the enemy of God. They are not pleasing to God, and their judgment is sure.
There was a man on TV who was denying that Jesus even died, saying it was all a hoax, and that He was just a natural man. We live in a time the Bible speaks of - - - when many will deny the very existence of God.
Jesus spoke to His disciples:
"Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you. And when He is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Of sin, because they believe not on Me; Of righteousness, because I go to My Father, and ye see Me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come." John 16:7-13
Jesus knew as long as He was on earth that He was limited by His flesh, but when Jesus came as the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, He would be in the unlimited Spiritual realm. By Jesus' words to John, we know He promised His disciples He would come as the Holy Spirit upon them:
"I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." John 14:18
Jesus kept His promise to His disciples on the Day of Pentecost when He came to them (or upon them) as the Holy Ghost.
"And when He is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment." John 16:8
Why did Jesus come as the Holy Ghost to reprove (bring to light and convict) the world, or worldly people of their sin and unrighteousness? He came to let them know there is a judgment on sin, and that they would be judged. Why? It is because they did not believe He was who He said He was. Those who deny the Word are exercising their sin nature.
When Jesus left the earth, He returned to His Father position. He became Christ Jesus, the Comforter, the Holy Spirit. Only those who have Spiritual eyes can see Him as He is.
The prince of this world, satan, has free reign in many lives today. Until one is endued with power from on high, they cannot accept Jesus in their lives. We know by Jesus' words:
"No man can come to Me, except the Father which hath sent Me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:44
The Father is the Holy Spirit, and no one can come to the Father, unless the Holy Spirit draw Him. The word draw means "to draw by an inward power." And as Jesus promised, He will raise those He has drawn unto Himself at the last day. The last day is the seventh day which will be the millennial reign of Christ. This can only happen when one kills off the old Adam nature and let's Christ (the Holy Spirit) have free reign in their lives.
Jesus stated He had many things to reveal to His disciples, but they were not yet endowed with the Holy Spirit to understand these things. The same is true today. Those who do not have the Holy Spirit cannot understand Spiritual things because they are none of His. This is why such attacks have always been upon God's Word. It is because man tries to understand God's Spiritual book with their carnal minds. Jesus again promises through the pen of John:
"Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. John 16:13
When the Spirit of Truth is come, He will guide us into all truth - - - The Truth of God's Word. Through the Spirit, He will speak to us what He hears from the Father, to show us things to come. This is why those who are endowed with the Spirit know God's judgment is at hand. Jesus spoke to His disciples:
"He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given." Matthew 13:11
Only those who have the Holy Spirit have the power to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom. The church system has no idea of the Spiritual realm, God's Kingdom. They read about the Kingdom of heaven and they believe the Kingdom is in some physical place called heaven. But the Kingdom of God is right here on earth - - - in a renewed earth. Man's carnal mind cannot believe in a world without cheating, robbing, murder, rape, drunkenness, drugs, politics, and all other forms of sin. The church's only hope is to die. Those who look for the coming Kingdom have the hope to live forever. Those whose only hope is the grave have to tear down those whose hope is in God and His Kingdom age.
"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:" II Corinthians 4:3
The gospel of the Kingdom is hid to the lost, but they continue to try to understand and explain their carnal understanding, and they have their followers who are just as lost as they are.
"In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." II Corinthians 4:4
The gods of this world have blinded their minds, so the gospel of Christ is lost to them. They go their own way and do their own thing, trying in vain to show how wise they are. John wrote the following inspiring words:
"But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him." I John 2:27
Man is not our teacher. Only the Holy Spirit can lead us into all truth. We have God's promise, that as the Holy Ghost has taught us, we can abide in Him, or dwell continually with Him. Those who come against the Word of God are the enemies of God and their judgment is sure because they are accursed.
Jude, Jesus' half brother, gives us insight into the time in which we live:
"How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit." Jude 1:18-19
When the mockers come, what day are we living in? It is in the last time. Jude summed up this whole teaching when he stated those who separate themselves from God are sensual (fleshly) having not the Spirit. These walk after their own ungodly lusts, seeking to bring attention to themselves with their carnal understandings. Peter, who was given the keys to the Kingdom, also knew the times in which we live:
"Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts," II Peter 3:3
The world is full of mockers and scoffers. Therefore we know the end of the age is near at hand, and those who have Spiritual eyes and Spiritual understanding of God's Word can see the handwriting on the wall. We know the world government - - - and yes, even the church system - - - are about to hear God speak TEKEL to them. This is the same word the hand wrote on the wall of Belshezzar's palace. It means the same today, as it did then:
"TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting." Daniel 5:27
The world government and the church have been weighed in God's righteous balance and have been found wanting, or lacking the knowledge of God. Because of this God is about to speak MENE! MENE! which means God has numbered their kingdom and finished it.
Yes, change is coming - - - and coming quickly. All we have heard the last two years is CHANGE! Well, we have seen the change corrupt men have brought. Now we are about to witness the change God has promised. We need to ask ourselves where will we be when God makes these changes?
We need not be the ones who have been found wanting. We need to get on our faces before our God and repent of those things that will keep us out of His Kingdom. For truly the Kingdom of God is at hand, and His judgments are sure upon this godless nation, the world, and the church. Amen!
Wake up and read the hand writing on the wall!
