Woe To The Self-Proclaimed Prophets

The apostle Paul proclaimed:

"There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification." I Corinthians 14:10

There are truly many voices in the earth proclaiming many things. None of these voices are without signification. The phrase "without signification" means "without the faculty to speak". All those who are speaking, think they have something to say. Most declare what they are speaking is from God. Today there seems to be a rash of self-proclaimed, self-promoted, and self-exalted prophets all looking for a following. The prophet Ezekiel foretold these false proclaimers:

"Thus saith the Lord God; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!" Ezekiel 13:3

These self-proclaimed prophets follow their own spirit. Many of these self-promoted prophets operate their so-called prophetic ministries by dreams, and whatever they can conger up in their own spirit. There are many school of prophets springing up all over the nation. These seem to have forgotten the words of Paul:

"When He (Jesus) ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;" Ephesians 4:8 & 11

The office of prophet is a gift of God. This gift was given to men, not women. Yet many of today's self-exalted prophets are women. Prophets cannot be trained in a school. It is a gift and calling of God. The prophet Ezekiel continued his proclamation:

"They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The Lord saith: and the Lord hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word." Ezekiel 13:6

These self-proclaimed prophets look for agreement from among other self-proclaimed prophets. We need to learn, no matter how much agreement their is between them, it will not hurry up or delay God's ordained judgments. Jesus warned about the last days:

"For their shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Matthew 24:24

The very elect will not be deceived by these false proclaimers, nor will they be fooled by the false Christs who seem to be many. Beware! Stay in the Word, and in your prayer closet. Learn God's voice and tune out the false prophets. If what they speak does not line up, line upon line, with God's written Word, then disregard what they say.
