Let My People Go

The word God gave to Moses to speak to Pharaoh was, "Let My people go!" God's people were held in bondage to Pharaoh's governmental order. God is speaking the same message to His people today. Get free from all entanglements of this life so you can worship Him with your whole heart. We live in the hour when there is a Kingdom to gain or lose. We live in a critical hour of decision. The prophet Joel spoke of our day when he proclaimed:

"Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision." *** Joel 3:14

The multitude of God's people are in the valley of decision. The Day of the Lord is truly near for those who remain in the valley of decision. God's people are held in bondage to the government by their own debt, their denominational orders, and their earthly playthings. God gave Peter insight into those who are held in such bondage:

"For when the speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought into bondage." *** II Peter 2:18-19

All the things mentioned before, promise liberty (freedom). The government speaks about our freedoms. It sounds good as long as we do not try to exercise it. The things we go in debt for promise us freedom, and an easier way of life. We need a new car, so we can be free from breakdowns and repairs, but the interest on the new one will pay for the repairs on the not-so-new one. Washers, dryers, dishwashers, boats, and airplanes, etc, all promise us the freedom of more free time for relaxation, but we cannot relax because we must work, work, work to pay for these freedom robbers. The denominations promise their people freedom, but Lord help them if they are seen coming out of another church. All these promise freedom, but those who practice these freedoms become servants of corruption (moral decay). As Peter related, when they are overcome by the desires of the flesh, then they are brought into bondage. How has Peter warned us?

"For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them." *** II Peter 2:20;21

The Lord cried out to Pharaoh, "Let My people go!" Today He is crying out to His people, "Let go, and come unto Me with your whole heart!"
