Today the Spirit is proclaiming like a sounding trumpet,

"When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. Proverbs 29:2

Today there is a great mourning in the land, for truly the wicked are in power. Every Biblical principle of fairness, honesty and morality have been totally ignored; or, in most cases God' s Word has been thrown back in His face by the Supreme Court. When this happened in Israel the prophet Jeremiah wrote,

"The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning." *** Lamentations 5:15

Those who have their hope in this government and this way of life, truly, their joy has turned into mourning, as they watch their hope vanish before their eyes. We are advised in God's Word that when we see all these things coming to pass, we are to look up and be encouraged for our redemption draweth nigh. When persecu-tion and hardship comes, Jesus informs us,

"Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets." *** Luke 6:23

God' s people have always been brought to maturity through tribulation. We can leap for joy because the Day of Tribulation is at hand. God's judgment is in the earth. That judgment has already begun upon this nation and the wicked rule will not last much longer. In this we can rejoice.
