Justice and Judgment
George Kirkpatrick

Vital Words to the Body of Christ
Freely We Have Received, Freely We Give

We are living in the days the prophets spoke of and warned us about. Today, more than ever, we need to recognize the consequences of not walking in the way of righteousness. The prophet Isaiah informs us:

". . . judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter." Isaiah 59:14

Isaiah could not have described our justice system any more thoroughly if he had read today's newspaper or listened to the local news. Justice is turned away backwards in this nation. The justice system in this country has completely changed from what the founding fathers expected it to be. Truth has fallen in the street to be trodden underfoot by those who are elected and appointed to uphold the truth.

Isaiah related, ". . . equity cannot enter." The word equity means "straightforwardness." Today we witness deception, especially in politics, advertising, and even in the church. When the church system or charity organizations need money, they often use deceptive means to obtain what they ask for, only to lavish it on their own lusts, in what is termed "administrative expense."

As we begin to search God's Word for His true justice and judgment, it becomes clear how far we have fallen from God's legislative design. From the beginning, God's justice and judgment always went together. Judgment without justice will only produce chaos, frustration, and anarchy.

Just before God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, the angel of the Lord came to Abraham, and said:

"Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him.

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which He hath spoken of him." Genesis 18:18-19

The angels knew Abraham would not only teach his children and his household to keep the way of the Lord, he would command them to do justice and judgment. The angels promised if Abraham would do this, God would bring upon Abraham all he had spoken to him. God not only promised Abraham He would bless him, but He would make him a blessing. He also promised Abraham He would bless all who blessed him, and curse all those who cursed him. God gave Abraham all the land he set foot on and all the land his eye could behold north, east, south, and west. God could fulfill all His promises to Abraham because Abraham's judgment was always with justice.

The main promise God made to Abraham was that He would make him a great nation. This God did through His seed, Christ Jesus. The great nation God would make out of Abraham is the holy nation, Spiritual Israel, of whom Christ Jesus is the head. [see "Mystery Israel Revealed " by G. Kirkpatrick]

Down through the history of ancient Israel, God chose men who knew judgment without justice was not acceptable before God. David was one of those men.

"And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people." II Samuel 8:15

David executed judgment and justice to all the people --- not just his close friends, or those who contributed to his campaign fund, or those from whom he could get something in return. David knew and understood the commandments given to Israel by the prophet Moses:

"Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour." Leviticus 19:15

God's judgment is to be just before all the rich, the poor, and the mighty. Justice is supposed to be blind. Justice is not to consider a person's lineage, status in life, or one's likes or dislikes for the accused. In the last few years we have certainly seen the rich shown special privileges. We witness judgment turned away backwards, and truth fallen in the streets.

The case of the famous athlete who was accused of killing his exwife and her friend shows how far judgment and truth have fallen away backwards. This man was many times a millionaire. For his defense, he was able to hire what was called "The Dream Team". In reality, they were only hired assassins, who assassinated the character of every witness. If anything was said about the accused, his violent temper, or his history of domestic violence, it was not allowed as evidence. He was found innocent, even though the abundance of evidence was not in his favor.

After this man was found innocent, a civil suit was filed, charging him with the wrongful death of his exwife and friend. In this case he was found guilty, and ordered to pay the relatives of the murder victims large sums of money as restitution for his part in the murders.

How far the justice system has slipped. According to the constitution of the United States, when someone is found innocent by a jury of their twelve peers, they are to be deemed innocent. If he was innocent of these deaths, how could he be found guilty of their wrongful death?

The question is not whether this man is innocent or guilty. The question is, "Has the justice system of this nation turned away backwards from God?" It must be noted in this case, there were no other suspects, and no suspects are being sought to solve these murders.

Another case in recent years was the murder of the six-year old beauty queen. The mother, father, and twelve year old son were the only ones in the house. There was no evidence found outside the house, no footprints in the snow or soft earth around the house, no forced entry. All the evidence was confined to the house. The parents of the child were very wealthy, and had much influence in the community where they lived. The police supposedly had messed up and destroyed much of the evidence. In the years following the murder, no suspects were sought outside the household, and yet this crime also goes unsolved. Whether the parents or the son are innocent or guilty is beside the point. The point is that money has swayed or completely sidetracked the justice system. Truth and justice have truly fallen in the street.

Moses directed the Judges:

"And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him." Deuteronomy 1:16

God demands justice for every man, whether he is our brother, family member, acquaintance, or a complete stranger. Today in the court system, race has become a deciding factor. If an African American, Hispanic, or other minority is found guilty of a crime, often the feeling is that it was because of their race. Innocence or guilt have nothing to do with justice in these cases. The feeling continues, if a caucasion is found innocent it is often felt it is because he or she is white. It is because of such injustices in the system, that these angers and misunderstandings exist. God and His laws have been removed from the court room, and the law which can be purchased with money or power has become the law of inequity. The question of innocence or guilt should be based on evidence and fact, not race or color. Moses explained this fact to ancient Israel:

"If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked." Deuteronomy 25:1

Today it is the exact opposite. The righteous are condemned when they stand up for what is right, and the wicked are justified in their wickedness.

Today when someone stands up for moral justice, they are called moral freaks, old fuddy-duddies, Bible thumpers, or worse. Many times, the righteous are found guilty for trying to protect what they have from those who would steal or take it by force. The judge, in any case, should always justify the righteous, and see that the wicked are punished. But more often than not, the wicked are deemed in the right, although the law is against them.

The Bible is the only basis for the law. The law of God is pure, untainted by the mind of man. George Washington, the father of this nation, stated:

. . . it is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible. . ."

How far this nation has gone away from this original idea. The whole basis for this government being founded was freedom to worship God in their own way. It was spelled out by the founding fathers that the god we were given the right to worship was the God of the Bible, the one true God, the living God. Truly we have seen the words of Moses come true in our day:

"They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not." Deuteronomy 32:17

The Supreme Court of the United States has declared freedom for all religions. Because of this, men in this nation have forsaken the God of our founding fathers, and now worship new gods whom our fathers feared not.

The Supreme Court has outlawed God in our schools. Prayer has become a crime. If a student wants to study and practice witchcraft, do yoga, embrace new age, or any other false religion, this is acceptable. But if a group of students want to hold a Bible study, it is often found to be against the separation of church and state. How the legal system has defiled God and His Word. If someone tries to stop them, it is an infringement on their constitutional rights. Students are allowed to sacrifice unto devils, but if they desire to study the Bible, they can be expelled from school. Libraries have been ordered to put the Bible with the adult books, and children are sometimes not allowed to check them out. Then we wonder why crime among our young has skyrocketed. Suicide among teens is the highest ever. The children who have grown up in this atomic age often have no hope.

God has been banned from our children, while hard rock and acid rock blare in the hallways of our public schools. Drugs are readily available. Sex is uncontrolled, and perverted sex (homosexuality and lesbianism) is taught as an alternate life style. Then we ask,

"What is wrong with the younger generation, who have no morals, no sense of right or wrong?"

Their clothes read, "NO FEAR!" because there is no fear of God or the justice system in this land. They have no respect for God, man, or other individual's property. But most of all they have no respect for the government, nor for those who are elected to run the government.

When the highest official in the land is a proven sodomite, a proven liar who is suspected of fraud, misappropriation of power, and even suspected of murder, how can our children or anyone look to such an example?

There are two governing bodies in the land: the House of Representatives and the Senate. The House of Representatives is elected by the people to represent the households in their district. The Senate is elected by the people to represent their state in Washington. Those who represent the households voted to impeach this high official, but the Senate was bribed and coerced to exonerate and overthrow the vote of those who represent the households in this land. Justice and truth were not only thrown in the streets, they were trodden underfoot by those who were elected to defend the constitution.

These actions set a precedent for any and all godless actions by our governmental officials. A nation which is run by alcoholics, drug addicts, and sex perverts cannot last, because God is a just and jealous God. This nation can expect God's judgment hand to fall heavily upon it. When a government or a people lose their respect for, or their fear of God, then they become capable of doing anything.

Andrew Jackson, President of the United States after the Civil war, proclaimed:

". . . the Bible is the rock on which our republic rests."

Andrew Jackson knew and understood that all man's laws are to be based on the Bible, and that the Bible was the rock on which this nation was founded. When this rock was removed by the Supreme Court, then our foundation became one of sand. We know by the words of Jesus:

"And everyone that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it." Matthew 7:26-27

Anyone who has Spiritual eyes and Spiritual ears, knows the rain is beginning to fall, and the wind is mightily blowing upon this "great house" known as the United States of America. Truly, the fall of this "great house" will come from the hand of God.

As we witness the weakening of everything this nation once stood for, we can sense the rain, and feel the wind blowing upon our financial institutions and the legal system which has become corrupt, lazy, and inefficient. There is little trust in our government officials or in the decisions which they make.

Dissident groups are on the rise. Youth gangs control the streets of our cities. The school systems, which receive government help, can only teach what the government allows. Even the church system, which was free in God, has become enslaved to the government, becoming fearful of governmental attacks if they do not do exactly what they are told.

Racial groups are becoming more organized and violent. Why? There is only one answer. This nation has forsaken the rock on which it was founded, and it has become a house, dependent on its sand foundation, . . . and it will fall! The prophet Isaiah revealed where this nation was in the beginning:

"Yet they seek Me daily, and delight to know My ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of Me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God." Isaiah 58:2

When this nation began, people sought God daily in their homes, in local governments, and in the federal government. In the home, each day began with prayer. The town hall meetings were always begun by asking for God's help and guidance. School assemblies began with prayer. School classes had their time of prayer and the pledge of allegiance. Even the federal government meetings began by asking God's guidance and direction in the decisions they had to make. How far we have fallen as a nation, in our school systems, and in our homes.

When we practiced these simple truths, we truly were a nation that did righteousness. But when we forsook the ordinances of God, instead of a nation who spoke peace, we became the aggressors. Instead of a nation who stood and fought for right, we became the biggest exporter of pornography, drugs, and all other perversions. The movies made in our day are full of sex, drinking, homosexuality, violence, and every other abomination known to God. No longer are we a nation who delights in approaching unto God.

Even Harry Truman, who was called "Give them hell, Harry" knew the value of the Bible in any society. He wrote:

". . .the fundamental basis of this nation's law was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul. I don't think we emphasize that enough these days. If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody but the state."

How true! Truman's words have come to pass. This nation has become a totalitarian government. According to Webster, the word totalitarian means "a centralized government which suppresses all rival political parties." This certainly has become true of the government of the United States. The two party system is in reality a one party system because there are no differences between either party. They both make promises they have no intentions of keeping. They lie, cheat, and steal to get elected, and continue this process to stay in office. Both parties only believe in the rights of the government. This will bring its eventual downfall. President Abraham Lincoln once said,

"No army by force could take a drink out of the Mississippi River. But this nation's downfall would be from within".

The evidence of this downfall is everywhere.

Under the Constitution the people are granted certain rights. But they can only enjoy these rights as long as they do not try to exercise them. In reality, when they try to exercise their constitutional rights or their God-given rights as human beings, they discover very quickly they have no rights. Rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness have been usurped by the government they believed in and supported. They soon realize justice has turned away backward, and truth has fallen in the streets.

As we study God's Word, it becomes very clear that God is not surprised about what has happened to our legal system, and the government as a whole. God spoke through the pen of the prophet Daniel:

"This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will, and setteth up over it the basest of men." Daniel 4:17

God is still in charge of the kingdoms of men, and He sets over them the basest of men. The word basest means "lowest of station." We are not being ruled by the elite, we are being governed by the basest, lowest form of life on the earth. We only need to view some of the heinous crimes our country has been guilty of in the last few years to realize how far this so-called Christian nation has fallen.

First, we must realize the founding fathers stated that this was to be a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. In 1985, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, there was a group called "MOVE". This group was charged with making too much noise and annoying the neighbors, and they had strange habits. When the police tried to evict them, they resisted. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was called in to assist the local police. The authorities informed the "MOVE" organization they would use whatever force necessary to remove them, and they would not tolerate insubordination. This is exactly the same statement made by the United Nations to all nations on earth. The decision was made by the mayor, local police, and the FBI to bomb them out. A bomb was dropped by a police helicopter, killing eleven people - - - four of which were small children.

The Constitution states that a person is innocent, until proven guilty. This was a SWAT team activity which became judge, jury, and executioner. It is hard to imagine what those four innocent children were guilty of. The home where this organization lived was not the only property destroyed. A whole city block of 60 homes was burned. What were these people guilty of?

The "MOVE" organization was made to seem less-than-human in the press to try to justify these murders and destruction of property.

In April of 1992, the FBI and the United State's Marshals ascended in force with many men armed with combat weapons on Randy Weaver's cabin in Ruby Ridge, Idaho. Marshalls confronted Randy's son, his dog, and a friend named Harris. The SWAT team shot and killed the Weaver's dog. The agents, with instructions to shoot to kill any armed adult, wounded Harris. Harris fired in self-defense, killing one of the agents. This began a nine-day siege with the killing of Weaver's wife, while she held their infant child. The agents were tried and convicted, and an Appeals Court upheld the decision. The government was ordered to pay a large settlement. Nothing could repay the loss of a wife, and pay for the trauma suffered by the family, especially the innocent child who probably will be mentally scarred the rest of its life.

It is the government's belief that money can pay for all its injustices. Money can only recompense; it cannot replace life. Life in the sight of God is precious, and it is to be protected at all cost. But life has become very cheap, when it can be recompensed with money.

It was only six months after the Ruby Ridge tragedy when the Waco Siege took place in February of 1993. The Branch Davidians, led by David Karesh, were ordered to surrender and vacate their property. This seige would last fifty-one days. This was the longest, costliest, and most destructive police action on American soil.

During the seige the government, knowing there were children involved, made the decision to shut off all food deliveries, and to shut off the electric and water. Movies made at the time show the government shooting at the compound with automatic weapons. The government tried to explain away what was obvious tracer bullets as glints of the sun. But glints of the sun are not symmetrical.

Then at the end of the fifty-one day seige, tanks rammed the building, while more shots were being fired by the ATF, the FBI, and the local law enforcement. One of the excuses used for this attack, was that child abuse was going on inside the compound. When the tanks rammed the building, it broke out in flames and burned totally to the ground. Seventy-five people, including seventeen innocent children, died. This is certainly not a way to end child abuse. Again, the government became judge, jury, and executioner. This action was justified by the government.

David Karesh and his followers were made to seem less than human by the government-controlled press. Again, zero tolerance was shown when government orders were resisted. Where was the jury of their peers who found these seventy-five guilty of a crime which demands capital punishment? Again, what were these seventeen innocent children guilty of?

Many other cases of the abuse of power have been recorded. This nation speaks of human rights all over the earth. Where was human rights in the case of MOVE, Randy Weaver, and Waco? None were proven guilty of anything in a court of law. Their only sin was defying the government. Or were they simply trying to exercise their rights guaranteed by the constitution? They were judged, found guilty, and executed by those who were elected to uphold the constitution. This is not God's law or His justice. It is simply the law of the jungle, the survival of the fittest, or the most powerful.

As we witness time and time again how wealth and fame sway the so-called justice system, we remember a few years after the MOVE incident in Philadelphia, the heir to one of the nation's richest chemical fortunes killed his personal wrestling trainer. This man was mentally disturbed. He had a tank and drove around his estate making numerous threats to people in the nearby village. It was known by the local police that this man was dangerous. Yet they did nothing about his threats to do bodily harm. So how did the police take this man into custody. They did not bomb his mansion, nor was it a long, drawn out seige. They very gently took him into custody, and he will live out his days in an expensive asylum. How money and fame make a difference in the justice system.

The prophet Isaiah spoke of the justice system of our day:

"Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear." Isaiah 59:1-2

We wonder why God's blessing is no longer on this nation. The financial system is a house of cards. The stock market is over-inflated. Insurance companies have invested heavily in failed enterprises. People who have worked all their lives discover their retirement funds have been stolen or squandered on bad investments.

Iniquities have separated this nation from their God. The word iniquity means "perverseness and depravity." The people have become depraved. The word depraved means "to be corrupt in one's moral values." Truly, this is one of the most depraved nations on the face of the earth. They have forsaken every one of God's righteous judgments. The Psalmist writes:

"God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry (with the wicked) every day." Psalm 7:11

As we look at the phrase "with the wicked", we find it is in italics which means this phrase was added for clarification. If we read this Psalm as the Psalmist wrote it, the Scripture reads, "God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry every day." God is not angry with the wicked. The wicked are doing exactly what the wicked are expected to do.

Those whom God is angry with are those who have taken His name in vain. God is angry every day with those who are called by His name, and have subscribed to His righteousness, yet act and do as the wicked. This is why Isaiah declared - - - because of their sins - - - God has hid His face from them.

Isaiah also stated that because of their sin, God will not hear their prayers and supplications. Their iniquities have separated them from their God.

Isaiah continues:

"For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness." Isaiah 59:3

Isaiah informs us this nation's hands are defiled with blood. The lust for violence has pervaded this land, until all that is seen and heard is violence, sex, drugs and every other kind of mayhem. Television, movies, rock music, magazines, smut newspapers, even the internet is filled with violence and perversion of every sort.

Sex is perverted to the place where our children growing up do not know what is proper and what is not. Young girls have sex before their teen years because this is all they know about being an adult.

As Isaiah stated, ". . . their hands are defiled with blood." This nation's hands are defiled with blood. When the unborn are slaughtered by abortion, the blood of the innocent is truly shed. This nation has failed to learn the lesson of King Manasseh. The Bible records the heinous acts of this king:

"Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the Lord." II Kings 21:16

Manasseh's hands, too, were defiled with innocent blood. Because of this, he caused all Judah to sin.

The Supreme Court of this nation has caused millions of people to sin because of their ungodly and unconstitutional decisions to give the parents the right to murder the unborn. We are given further insight into Manasseh's sin:

"And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the Lord would not pardon." II Kings 24:4

God will not pardon the shedding of innocent blood. The word pardon means "forgive." God will not forgive a nation who allows the shedding of innocent blood. Then what about those who have been instrumental in causing or participating in an abortion?

As Isaiah the prophet informed us, ". . . the Lord's hand is not shortened (slack) that it cannot save, neither is His ear heavy (dull) that He cannot hear. . ." Isaiah 59:1.

God can save and God can hear a repentant heart. God does not hear the words of our mouth. He knows the thoughts and intents of the heart. Because of this, His judgments are always right and true.

Isaiah continues his insight into the time in which we live:

"None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity." Isaiah 59:4

How this describes the justice system and the political arena today. Isaiah cried out, "None calleth for justice. . ." Today, when you hire a lawyer, he is not interested in your innocence or guilt. He only tries to get the best deal he can from a corrupt and unjust court system. The court system is only interested in court costs and lawyer fees. The judges and lawyers all belong to the same country clubs and social orders. More decisions are made at the golf course than in the court room.

Isaiah also stated, ". . . none pleadeth for truth." How true this has become in our modern day world. Lying has almost become an art form. When someone stands up for truth, they are shouted down or ignored. This is so very true in the legal system and politics. Even the children have learned lying, cheating, and stealing from the many perverted sit-coms on television. The so-called soap operas have all but obliterated the normal life style in this nation. Marriage was once a holy institution - - - protected and honored. The soap operas have made marriage a mockery. Today, instead of marriage being a holy institution, it has become an archaic idea. And so "shacking up" is the order of the day. The soap operas display the reality of the words of Jeremiah:

"There were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour's wife." Jeremiah 5:8

Now violating the marriage vows is fashionable. Having an affair is expected. Even wife-swapping has become the rage of the age. How God's heart must break when He views how man has made a mockery of His Word and His trust.

When Isaiah stated, ". . .none pleadeth for truth. . ." this certainly includes the political world of today. One of our presidents who was caught in a bold-faced lie, simply stated that lying is a part of politics. This has certainly been true in the last few election campaigns.

Isaiah stated, ". . . they trust in vanity and speak lies. . ." The word vanity means "formlessness, confusion, unreality, emptiness, nothingness, a place of chaos." This is what people have put their trust in. They have forsaken the life God intended for them to live, and have accepted the nothingness, confusion, and chaos of the worldly system. Jesus revealed to John on the Isle of Patmos what these who have forsaken God can expect:

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Revelation 21:8

Liars are in the same category as murders and whoremongers. Those who practice witchcraft and worship idols will all partake of the second death which is the destruction of the soul.

Isaiah tells us those who trust in vanity and speak lies conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity. Because these have forsaken God's way, they can expect trouble, sorrow, and grief all the days of their lives.

Isaiah continues his discourse to this end time generation:

"Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths." Isaiah 59:7

We allow our children to view all the violence and machoism on television, then wonder why our children have become so violent. Preteens commit murder just to see how it feels. Respect for parent's property and God is non-existent. Murders happen right before our eyes, and we are so hardened by all the violence, we do not even flinch.

Teenagers raped a woman in a city park while onlookers cheered them on. Truly our young and our adult's feet have run to evil and their thoughts are on evil (wickedness) continually.

We watch while riots break out, cars are burned, windows are broken, with mass looting following. Wasting and destruction seems to be the order of the day. The police have, themselves, become brutes when they unmercifully beat a person during a simple arrest.

We truly live in the day Isaiah spoke of:

"The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace." Isaiah 59:8

The way of peace has been lost because they do not know the Prince of Peace. Christ Jesus is no longer thought to be anything but an imaginary God who has nothing more to do with planet earth. Even those who call themselves by His name (Christian) have lost faith in God's judgment. They no longer believe God will judge this wicked, sin-ridden nation. Jeremiah disclosed:

"For My people is foolish, they have not known Me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge." Jeremiah 4:22

As Isaiah stated, ". . . there is no judgment in their goings. . .". Jeremiah related, ". . .for My people (Christians) are foolish. . .they have not known me." Today most who go to church and call themselves by Christ's name do not know Him. They only know of Him and about Him. But to have a personal relationship with Him, has never entered their minds. They, as Jeremiah revealed, are "sottish children" or "foolish children" because they have no understanding of God, His ways, His righteousness, or His will in their lives. The reason for this is that all they know is what comes from the pulpits or from television evangelists who only talk about money and big works. They do not teach about the need for a personal relationship with God. If we are to know God, we must know Him through His whole Word, not only in the New Testament, but we must also know Him in the Old Testament.

As Jeremiah wrote, ". . . they are wise to do evil. . ." They have been taught evil from their youth up, but to do good they have no knowledge because all they witness is the evil that surrounds them.

Isaiah stated, ". . .they have made them crooked paths. . ." . This is where they walk because they do not know to do differently. When they see others walking this way, they believe it must be the right way. God informs us that whoever walks in these crooked paths that the world has set before us will never know peace.

The whole earth is crying out for peace. But there can be no peace until God's people straighten out their walk. They must get to know and understand God through an intimate relationship with Him which they have cultivated through a daily study of His Word.

Isaiah continues his discourse:

"Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness." Isaiah 59:9

There have been many "WAKE UP AMERICA!" calls put forward by many ministries. Even the secular news systems have voiced concerns about the moral degeneration of this nation and the justice system.

When Isaiah stated, ". . .judgment is far from us. . .", he realized by the Spirit what would face this endtime generation. He was given insight into what would become of justice and the justice system, and how far it would be from what God intended in the beginning.

Isaiah continued, ". . .neither doth justice overtake us. . .". The word overtake means "to reach." When we believe in the justice system to uphold truth, right, and correction, we become profoundly disgusted. Too many times we witness the results when the righteous are punished and the wicked go free. Too often the excuse used for these obvious errors is "technicalities." In reality, technicalities have nothing to do with right and wrong, justice and injustice.

Isaiah stated, ". . .we wait for light. . .". Light represents understanding. We try to understand how and why the justice system has fallen so far. When we look upon the Statue of Lady Justice, she has a blind fold on, meaning "justice is blind." But since justice has taken the blind fold off to look at money, the race, the color, and the religious beliefs of those who are to be judged, the justice system has failed.

Today's so-called justice system will continue to fail as long as the blind fold is removed from judgment. Our justice system was based on the principle that a person is innocent until proven guilty. This idea no longer exists. Now a person is assumed guilty until proven innocent. If the person's innocence or guilt cannot be proven, then they are assumed guilty. If a person is not able to afford an expensive lawyer, then the court appoints a lawyer for them. This is generally an inexperienced lawyer, just out of law school, or a friend of the court and prosecuting attorney. Justice is certainly not served in these cases. It is generally a quick court session, or a plea bargain to get the defendant the best deal the court has to offer. Again innocence or guilt has nothing to do with the decision made in the case.

God, who is the Father of our legal system, knew justice was to be blind. He also knew what the court system would become when He set down the rules for its operation to Moses:

"Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous." Deuteronomy 16:19

The word wrest means "to bend, twist, or stretch." Justice is not to be bent, twisted, or stretched in any way. Righteous judgment is to be fair to all concerned. Justice is not to respect any one person. It is to be fair to all, no matter the circumstances, situation, or position of the person or persons involved.

No one in the legal system is to take a gift (bribe). How far our legal system has strayed from this idea. When a bribe is taken, justice is no longer impartially blind and fair. The total opposite is true. Those involved have become blinded to the truth. Quick justice and bribed justice is no justice at all.

When bribes are taken, then righteousness is perverted. Righteousness and judgment are one. They should not be separated. When they are separated, then truth and judgment have fallen in the streets. We look for light and all we see is obscurity (veiled truth). We look for brightness, and all we see is darkness, and all hope is lost. When this happens we can only expect the demise of such a system.

"We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.

We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us." Isaiah 59:10-11

Isaiah described perfectly where this nation and the world are today. A blind man has to feel his way because he has no light. This nation, the legal system, the political system, schools, and even the organized church system have rejected the Light of Life. They have become as blind, having no eyes (no vision). They stumble through life with no direction, only doing what suits their purpose. They truly roar like bears when they discover what their leaders have become. The all-wise Solomon declared:

"When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." Proverbs 29:2

The people are mourning because the wicked are bearing rule, yet at election time, they elect the same kind of people that are now in office. They mourn sore like doves when they expect justice, yet receive the exact opposite. Moses spoke of our day when God stated:

"And He said, I will hide My face from them; I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith." Deuteronomy 32:20

Since this nation has rejected God and legislated Him out of the people's lives, God has hid His face from this nation, and He knows the end from the beginning.

Jesus made a profound revelation when He stated:

"Judge not, that ye be not judged.

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again." Matthew 7:1-2

Jesus was speaking to us as individuals, but this can also be applied to nations. If an individual judges unrighteously, then he or she can only expect unrighteous judgment from others. On the other hand, if we judge righteously we can expect to be judged righteously. No one minds being judged righteously. This also holds true with nations. If a nation has a righteous system of judgment, then it too can expect righteous judgment from God. But if that justice system has become corrupt, then they can only expect God's severest judgment.

Jesus revealed the judgment He will bring upon America. He showed John this judgment as being upon mystery Babylon, the great whore, which is the United States of America. [see "Mystery Babylon" by G. Kirkpatrick]

"And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird." Revelation 18:1-2

Today we are witnessing the beginning of God's judgment on Babylon. This nation has become the habitation of devils. Every false religion has a headquarters in this nation. Witchcraft is openly advertised on the television, with fortune telling, card reading, and the reading of palms. Transcendental meditation is advertised as a cure for many diseases, including high blood pressure and heart disease. Every foul spirit from the pits of hell inhabits this land, and many of its people.

"For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies." Revelation 18:3

The United States has exported her sin all over the earth. The leaders of the world have committed fornication to receive her grants and free handouts. The merchants of the earth have become rich through their exports to this nation. This nation has become so dependent on foreign imports that the trade deficit is astronomical. The United States will never be able to redeem all the money held by these nations. This, too, is all part of God's judgment.

God revealed His blessings to those who serve Him, and His curses on those who have forsaken His voice, His commandments, and His statutes.

"And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all His commandments which I command Thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God." Deuteronomy 28:1-2

In the beginning, God set this nation on high above all other nations on earth. God blessed this nation above measure when it hearkened unto His voice and followed His commandments and statutes. God promised:

"The Lord shall open unto thee His good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:" Deuteronomy 28:12-13

When this nation followed God's voice, His commandments, and His statutes, it lent to many nations. God made it the head, and not the tail.

In contrast, God also promised any nation:

"But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee." Deuteronomy 28:15

God promised if a people fail to do His commandments and statutes, all these curses would come upon them. Then for the next twenty-nine verses God reveals all the curses He would bring upon the nation which did not follow His statutes (judgments). As we read these curses, it is plain to see and understand that all these curses have come upon this nation. The revelation in Deuteronomy foretells our fate:

"He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail." Deuteronomy 28:44

This nation now borrows from any nation who will lend to it, and because of this it has become the world's largest debtor nation. God has truly made this nation the tail, and no longer the head. When the world holds its economic meetings, our representatives are mocked, jeered, and laughed at - - - if not in public, in private.

Jesus continued His revelation to John concerning those who live in Babylon in the end of time:

"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." Revelation 18:4

God is warning His people to come out of her, or not become part of or depend upon this great whore government, with its injustices, its prejudices, and its rejection of God. God warned His people not to partake of her sins, because if we do then we will also receive of her plagues. What are her plagues?

"Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her." Revelation 18:8

Jesus lists her plagues: death (physical death), mourning (sorrow, lamenting), famine (hunger), and she will be burned with fire (nuclear war). We know it is the Lord God who will bring this judgment upon the United States. As Jesus declared, the same judgment one gives out, is the judgment one can expect to receive back. Since this nation's judgments have become vile, corrupt, and self-serving, this is what this nation can expect in return.

This nation is the only nation on earth who is guilty of releasing its nuclear hell upon a population. America did this twice. They declared this to be justice. So what judgment can this nation expect from a righteous God?

What will be the reaction of all the friends of this nation around the world? Will they come to the aid of this godless nation?

"And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour is thy judgment come." Revelation 18:9-10

They will stand afar off lamenting because the world's richest marketplace has been destroyed, and no one will buy their products anymore. Death, mourning, famine, and fire will come upon this harlot nation in one hour. One hour is a set period of time.

What will become of those who disobey God's voice, and remain part of this godless system? They will suffer the same fate as all those who remain in and depend upon this government for their existence. One of our great military men who became president of the United States related:

"The Bible is endorsed by the ages. Our civilization is built upon its words." Dwight D. Eisenhower

When the Bible is ignored in any society, then that society ceases to function as a civilized people. Rape, murder, perversion, child molestation, fornication, sodomy . . . the list of abominations before our God becomes endless. When human beings are involved in activities even the animal world would not do, how can they call themselves civilized? Without the Word of God, the people simply become an unruly mob with no justice, and the only law they know is perverted judgment.

God has called His people out of this corrupt system to be totally separated unto Him, so they will not be part of the plagues God will bring upon this nation.

"Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place." Isaiah 28:17

"Judgment will I also lay to the line. . .". The line is what God uses to make sure everything lines up with His Word. All judgments must line up with His Holy Word. He lines up His righteousness to the plummet. The plummet is a plumb line. All God's righteousness must be plumb on the vertical line, and His judgments must be in line on the horizontal plane.

The hail of judgment will sweep away the refuge of lies God's people have hidden themselves under. We will stand naked before our God. No hidden thought or idea will go undetected. If we desire righteous judgment from our Father, then we need to learn to do righteousness. One of the presidents who occupied the presidency of this nation, stated:

". . .where we have been truest and most consistent in obeying its precepts, we have attained the greatest measure of contentment and prosperity." Franklin D. Roosevelt

As we witness the decline and fall of this once great, Christian nation, we can but lament and cry out to God for His mercy. We need to realize this nation will not turn back to God. But we, as God's people, can repent and come out of her as God has given us direction. Then, when the words of Jesus come to pass, we will not partake of her plagues.

"And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!" Revelation 18:16-18

God has written "ICHABOD" across the Star Spangled Banner because His glory has departed.
