From the beginning of the ages, all who believed in God thought they were God's chosen people. Today every denomination believes they are God's chosen people. This includes the Catholics, the Muslims, the Jehovah Witnesses, and all other false religions.

The Jews also believe they have an ancient right to the claim of being God's chosen people. But do they? We need to look at and understand who and what is a Jew. Are they Hebrews? Are they Israelites? Or, are they just another religion?

The first use of the word Hebrew is in Genesis 14:3

"And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eschol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram." Genesis 14:13

Abram, or Abraham, was a Hebrew. The word Hebrew comes from the word HEBER or EBER and means "the one from beyond or one who has passed over." The term Hebrew is a description of the patriarchs and the Israelites, not of the Jews.

The word Israelite comes from the word Israel. Jacob's (the grandson of Abraham the Hebrew) name was changed to Israel after he wrestled with the angel at Peniel. Jacob had ten sons before his name was changed to Israel. Two sons, Joseph and Benjamin, were born after his name was changed, but all the sons of Jacob were called the children of Israel.

The word Israel means "God prevails , or he shall be a prince of God." A prince is the son of a king. It was to the Israelites God gave the ten commandments and the laws Israel was to live by. Isaiah informs us:

"Yet now hear, O Jacob My servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:" Isaiah 44:1

"And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up Mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made Myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up Mine hand unto them, saying, I am the Lord your God;" Ezekiel 20:5

Moses also recorded:

"Now therefore, if ye will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people: for all the earth is Mine: And ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel." Exodus 19:5-6

It was Israel God freed from Egypt, not the Jews. It was Israel to whom the promises of a chosen people were made, not the Jews. It was to Israel God made His covenant, not the Jews.

In God's Word, we find no connection between the Hebrews and the Jews, nor is there any connection between the Israelites and the Jews. So then where did the Jews come from? The word Jew comes from the word JEHUDI which is pronounced "yeh-hoo-dee". It is translated 74 times Jew or Jews and only 1 time as Judah. Every name in the Bible has a meaning except the word Jew. The word Jew has no Biblical meaning.

The first use of the word Jew in the Bible is in the book of Ezra. This was when Judah returned from their Babylonian captivity around 539 B. C., bringing with them the Babylonian Talmud. Most believe the Jews get their beliefs and doctrines from the Old Testament. This belief is not true. The Jews get their beliefs and doctrines from the Talmad, and only use the Old Testament as a Biblical record to give credence to their belief.

So what is the Talmud? The Talmud consists of Rabbinical laws, customs and history. The Talmud contains two parts, the Mishnah and the Gemara. The Mishnah is the oral and written law. The Gemara is the basis for all the codes of the Rabbinical law, and is quoted in Jewish Rabbinical literature.

The whole Talmud is traditionally referred to as SHAS, the abbreviation of Shishah Sedarim. The Talmud is the Jewish law and order. It is not the Old Testament or the writings of the prophets as the Jews would have us believe.

Going further into the Jewish belief, we need to ask, "What is a Jew?" According to the Talmud (Jewish law), a Jew is one who has a Jewish mother. This is according to the Holakhu (Jewish law). A child whose father is a Jew and his mother is not Jewish is considered a non-Jew.

This becomes very interesting, because all blood lines come from the father. Not one drop of the mother's blood ever flows through the veins of a child. From the time of the fertilization of the mother's egg, the embryo produces its own blood. You cannot tell the mother by a blood test. But you can exactly determine the father because the child has his blood line.

So then what makes one a Jew? It is their adherence to the Talmud, the Jewish laws, and following their customs and traditions. In other words, one is a Jew by following the Jewish religion. This is the same as all those who follow their religious beliefs. Catholics are Catholic because they follow the Catholic religion. Mormons are Mormon because they follow the Mormon doctrine. Baptists are Baptist because they follow the Baptist religion, etc., etc. One is a Jew, therefore, because they follow the Jewish religion and traditions. Like the Catholics, the Mormons, and the Baptists, the Jews are just another religion.

The Jew is not a Jew because of what they call themselves by the blood line. They are what they are because they follow man made doctrines and creeds, just as every other religion. Jesus addressed this when speaking to the religious Jews:

"Then the Pharisees and Scribes asked Him, Why walk not Thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?

He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. Howbeit in vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And He said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition." Mark 7:5-9

The traditions of the elders were taken from the Mishnah and Rabbinical teachings of the Talmud - - - not from the elders of the church - - - because the church had not as yet been established. Jesus called those who followed the traditions of the Rabbinical elders, hypocrites. He stated they drew near Him with their mouths, but their hearts were far from God.

All the Jew's worship of God was, and is, by the precepts and doctrines of men. They laid aside the commandments of God to keep their own traditions. The words of Jesus are still true today as pertaining to the religious Jew. Jesus dealt differently with the Jews than He did with Israel. When the woman came from Canaan, seeking deliverance for her daughter, Jesus disclosed to His disciples:

"But He answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." Matthew 15:24

Jesus was sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Who are the lost sheep of the house of Israel? The prophet Malachi gave us insight when he proclaimed:

"The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi. I have loved you, saith the Lord. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? Said the Lord: Yet I loved Jacob and I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness." Malachi 1:1-3

The word burden means "message or prophesy." The book of Malachi, therefore, is a message or prophecy concerning Israel. God informed Malachi He loved Jacob and hated Esau. Why did God hate Esau? It was because he had sold his God-given birthright he had received because he was the eldest son. Being younger than Esau, Jacob desired to have a birthright in God, and he purchased Esau's birthright for a bowl of beans. Esau's brithright meant nothing to him. Paul quoted Malachi when he disclosed to the Romans:

"That is, they which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated." Romans 9:8 & 13

The children of the flesh are not the children of God. Only the promised seed are the children of God. The children of the flesh are those who have denied Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit anointing in their lives. The children of the promise are the only ones who have a birthright in God.

Most Jews have a birthright in God which comes from their lineage of the twelve tribes of Israel. But when they turned from their true inheritance and embraced the Babylonian Talmud, they lost their birthright in God.

Jesus came to redeem the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Luke declared:

"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for He hath visited and redeemed His people," Luke 1:68

Jesus came to bring redemption to the sons of Jacob, but instead they cried out, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!" The Jews have suffered the consequence of this rejection ever since.

When Jesus spoke of Israel, it was always in the positive. When He spoke of the Jews, it was always in the negative. Matthew records the words of Micah, the prophet, which spoke of the birth of Jesus:

"And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule My people Israel." Matthew 2:6

Out of Bethlehem would come the Governor (the chief leader) who would rule God's people Israel. By the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Micah declared:

"But thou, Bethlehem, Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel: whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting." Micah 5:2

Micah included additional important information for us to discover - - - "whose going forth has been from old, from everlasting." The prophet Micah here is declaring Jesus' existence was before the foundation of the earth, and that He was manifested as the Son of God at His birth. He was to be the Governor who would rule His people Israel.

When Jesus heard the testimony of the Roman centurion, He proclaimed:

"When Jesus heard these things, He marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed Him, I say unto, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel." Luke 7:9

When Jesus walked the earth those who were His enemies were the religious Jews. There were three main sects of the Jewish religion: the Sadducees, the Pharisees and the Herodians.

The Sadducees were the keepers of the ancient laws. The name Sadducee means "righteous." The Sadducees did not believe in the resurrection of the body, nor did they believe of retribution in a future life. The Jewish priests embraced the Sadducee's religion.

The name Pharisee means "separatist." The main tenants of this religion is that the soul will never perish and the wicked will be punished with eternal torment. In other words, they believe the lie the serpent spoke to Eve in the garden that "Ye shall not surely die." [See "Ye Shall Not Surely Die" by George Kirkpatrick] The scribes embraced the Pharisee's religion.

The Herodians were those who embraced the Greek way of life and followed the dictates of Herod (government). The Herodians did not adhere to the Jewish law. Their only loyalties were to Rome.

These same three beliefs have infiltrated the church system today. The religious Sadducees, no matter what name they go by, still want to keep the old law. They keep the Sabbath, observe the ritualistic holidays and observe times and seasons.

The religious Pharisees are those who are separatists, teaching the eternal soul of the wicked, believing they are the only righteous ones, and have made doctrines and creeds to live by. If their people go to any other church, they are reprimanded.

The religious Herodians are those who adhere to every governmental rule and shun all teaching of righteousness with their "if it feels good do it" attitude, but still confess their belief in God.

As stated before, when Jesus addressed the scribes, Sadducees, Pharisees and Herodians, it was always in the negative.

"But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye shut up the Kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in." Matthew 23:13

This certainly describes the modern Jews who have shut up the Kingdom of God to their people. As Jesus stated they would not be enter in themselves, and they hinder all those who are entering into the Kingdom realm.

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation." Matthew 23:14

Most of the international bankers are Jewish. Their desire is to control the wealth of the world, and they are doing it. Their outward appearance - - - their dress, their religious ceremonies, their long prayers - - - are to deceitfully impress the world. Jesus declared, "Ye shall receive the greater damnation."

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves." Matthew 23:15

They compass land and sea to make one proselyte (one who is converted to Judaism), and thus make that convert the two-fold child of hell than they are themselves.

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess." Matthew 23:25

Jesus stated they make their outward appearances look good, but their inner parts are full of extortion and excess. The word extortion means "the act of plundering and robbing." The word robbing means "lack of self control and intemperance." Jesus continues His explanation of what the Jewish religion was all about:

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness." Matthew 23:27

Jesus calls them hypocrites (play actors). Jesus stated those whose religion is only an act, or a part of a play, are like whited sepulchers, or white-washed tombs which look good, but are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. What Jesus was saying was they looked good, but their was no life in them.

The beloved John who spent more time with Jesus than any other disciples recorded Jesus' words to the Jews:

"Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to Him, We be not born of fornication; we have one father, even God." John 8:41

Jesus told them they did the deeds of their father. Then the Jews accused Jesus of being born of fornication. Then they declared "We have one father."

"Jesus said unto them, If God were your father, ye would love Me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do ye not understand My speech: Even because ye cannot hear My word." John 8:42-43

Jesus told them if God was their father, they would have loved Him also. It should be obvious Jesus was declaring God was not their father. Abraham is the father of our faith. When Jesus informed the religious Jews that Abraham was not their father, then they could not claim lineage to Abraham, Isaac or Jacob as the father of their faith. Then Jesus told them who their father was:

"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." John 8:44

The word devil means "satan, the prince of the demons, the author of evil." Jesus stated the devil was a murderer from the beginning. Jesus told them the lusts of your father, you will do. The Jews proved this was true when they tried to kill Jesus - - - and continued trying until they accomplished there purpose.

Jesus informed the Jews:

"If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. But now ye seek to kill Me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham." John8:39b & 40

Jesus knew their hearts, and that their intentions were to destroy Him. Mark recorded:

"And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him." Mark 3:6

We know how Judas went into the chief priest and took money to betray Jesus into the hands of the Jews. It was the Jews who stood Jesus before Annas and Caiaphas.

"Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people." John 18:14

To have one die for the people was the counsel Caiaphas gave to the Jews. He could hardly realize the full meaning of his words. He was simply expressing the thought of a political collaborator with Rome. Many believe he was proclaiming the death of Jesus as the Savior of His people. It this were the case, then why did he not believe who Jesus was?

There was nothing in the Mosaic law that stated one should die for the people. This is human sacrifice practiced by the basest of humanity. This idea must have come from the Babylonian Talmud or one of their man-made laws. So when Caiaphas could find nothing to charge Jesus with, they sent Jesus to Pilate.

"Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early: and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover." John 18:28

"Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye Him, and judge Him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death." John 18:31

This was in direct contradiction to what Caiaphas had stated. But when Pilate told them to take Jesus and judge him according to their laws, Caiaphas told Pilate it was unlawful to put any man to death.

The Jews wanted Jesus dead, but they did not want to be defiled with Jesus' blood on their hands because it was the time of the Passover. So they cried out for the Romans to do their bidding.

For centuries the Jews have been maligned, hated, and run out of countries. Many have wondered why the Jews seem to be an accursed people? The answer is in the Bible. When Pilate washed his hands and said, "I am innocent of the blood of this just person, Matthew 22:24".

"Then answered all the people and said, His blood be on us, and on our children." Matthew 27:25

The Jews pronounced their own curse. Truly the innocent blood of Jesus has been on the Jews and their children ever since.

Today when someone says something about the Jews causing Jesus' death, they are called hate mongers and anti-semantics. The author is not a hate monger, nor is he anti-semantic. It is the author's intention to explain by the Word of God who God's true chosen people are.

Further proof that the Jews caused Jesus' death is found in the book of Acts:

"Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ." Acts 2:36

Peter made it very plain that the Jews caused the crucifiction of Jesus, but God got the victory. At Jesus' death, He was made both Lord (Supreme above all) and Christ (The Anointing).

The Jews murderous attitude did not cease with the death of Jesus. When Stephen expounded the Old Testament, proving the coming of their Messiah, he cried out:

"Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? And they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murders:" Acts 7:51-52

Stephen called the Jews stiffnecked (stubborn, headstrong and obstinate) and uncircumcised in heart. He further stated they always resisted the Holy Ghost as did their fathers. Their fathers were not the ancients in the Scriptures, because these men of God were led by the Spirit when they wrote down God's prophecies.

Stephen asked, "Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted and killed ,who prophesied the coming of Jesus?" Then Stephen stated plainly that they betrayed and murdered the Just One, Jesus Christ.

When they stoned Stephen, they laid down their clothes at the feet of a young Jew by the name of Saul (whose name was later changed to Paul). Paul had all the religious credentials.

"Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ." Philippians 3:5-7

When Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus, all his religion went out the window. Paul was a Pharisee so he knew what they taught and what they believed. So we can take Paul's writings, not only as the Jew's religious expert, but also as the anointed writer of God's Word.

Luke the physician who traveled with Paul records:

"And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead." Acts 14:29

The Jews stoned Paul just as they did Stephen, but miraculously Paul was not killed by the hands of the Jews. His life was spared, but it had been their intention to kill him. Paul related to the Corinthians:

"Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one." II Corinthians 11:24

Paul had 195 scars on his back because he preached the gospel of Jesus Christ, who was offensive to the Jews. Paul knew all his religious credentials were not enough to make him pleasing in the sight of God. He knew his previous religion was merely a fleshly endeavor.

Many today believe their religion puts them in a right standing in God. Paul exploded this idea in his letter to the Romans:

"That is, They which are the children of the flesh, there are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed." Romans 9:8

The children of the flesh are those who have a natural lineage from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Jews are not the children of God because of this natural, physical lineage. Fleshly religions only tend to puff up and give the followers false hope in God.

Stephen stated the Jews always resisted the Holy Ghost. Paul also expounds on this in his letter to the Romans:

"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His." Romans 8:9

So if the Jews resist the Holy Spirit as did their fathers, then they are none of His. The question then arises, "Who are God's chosen people?" If the Jews and all other religions are not God's chosen people, then who are they? Again we turn to Paul's writings:

"For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;" Romans 11:16-17

In order to identify the root, the branches, the olive tree and the wild olive tree we need to look again to Paul's writings:

"For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:" Romans 11:13

Paul had begun by trying to minister to the Jews, but when the Jews opposed what he said and blasphemed, Paul stated:

"And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ. And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles." Acts 18:5-6

When the Jews opposed what Paul said and blasphemed, Paul shook his raiment. This meant Paul was finished wasting his time trying to convince the Jews. Paul, then, declared himself to be the apostle to the Gentiles.

The root Paul spoke of is God. The branches were the natural lineage of Abraham. The olive tree is Israel. The wild olive tree are the Gentiles who were graffed into God by the Holy Spirit. The natural branches (Israel) were broken off because of their unbelief in God and His Son.

Paul continues to give warning to the wild olives (the Gentiles) who were grafted into the root and had become partakers of God's blessings:

"Well, because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest He also spare not thee." Romans 11:20-21

The natural branches were broken off because of unbelief. Paul, by the Holy Spirit anointing, warned those who stand by faith not to be highminded (proud and haughty), but fear. God did not spare the natural branches when they fell into unbelief and became religious.

But still today the popular teaching in the church system is once saved, always saved and once you make your confession to God you are home free. Paul warns they, too, can be cut off. Paul continues his warning:

"Behold therefore the goodness and the severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in His goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off." Romans 11:22

The message we hear over and over today in the church system is a goody, goody God who loves us and will never judge His people. They forget the severity God showed His ancient people Israel. Again speaking of Israel, Paul writes:

"Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come." I Corinthians 10:11

Because ancient Israel fell into unbelief, they were cut away from the root. So then, do they have no chance? Paul related:

"And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. For if thou were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree? For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in." Romans 11:23-25

We must understand here that Paul was not speaking about the Jews, but the natural branch Israel. If Israel will turn away from their religious Judaism, and ask Christ for forgiveness, then they will be grafted back into the root. Thus the natural branch is assured that when the fullness of the Gentile has come in, then they who repent will be grafted back in again also. Paul continues his admonition to the Romans:

"As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes." Romans 11:28

Right now, Israel are the enemies of the gospel of Christ, but God still loves His ancient people, and God's arm is stretched out still, and many have taken His hand, and have recognized their true Messiah.

So the question remains, who are God's chosen people? As we search for the answer to this all important question we need to address the words of Jesus:

"It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." John 6:63

If we are to discover who God's chosen people are, we must look for them by and through the eyes of the Spirit. Again we look to Paul:

"For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God." Romans 2:28-29

Everything man does in the natural, God does in the Spiritual. By the Spirit, Paul tells us he is not a Jew which is one outwardly who follow the law of circumcision - - - but He is a Spiritual Jew, whose circumcision is in the heart and spirit, whose praise is not of men, but of God. By Paul's words we can understand what Jesus spoke to John on the Isle of Patmos. John was to write to the church at Philadelphia:

"Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee." Revelation 3:9

Those who claim to be Jews, but have not been circumcised in their heart and spirit, are not Jews. Jesus tells John that these will come and worship before the feet of those who have been circumcised in their hearts. These are the ones God confesses He loves.

We turn again to Paul to discover who God's chosen people are. To the Galatians Paul writes:

"For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God." Galatians 6:15-16

Circumcision or uncircumcision does not avail anything to those who are in Christ Jesus (the risen, glorified Christ). We only become the Israel of God by becoming part of the new creature (creation). Paul explains the new creation:

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, He is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." II Corinthians 5:17

It is those in Christ Jesus who have allowed the old things to pass away and all things to become new who are the Israel of God. Paul relates as many who walk according to this rule (way) - - - what way? It is the way of the new creation in God. These are the Israel of God.

God has His ancient Israel which He has not cast off, and He has His Spiritual Israel who are His new creation. Natural and Spiritual Israel are His two witnesses of Revelation Eleven - - - but that is another teaching.

So when was this new creation called? To discover this we must look at Paul's second letter to Timothy:

"Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began," II Timothy 1:9

God's new creation was called with an holy calling in Christ Jesus before the world began. This calling preceded Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God's new creation can make the same statement Jesus made. Jesus informed the Jews:

"Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day: and he saw it, and was glad. Then said the Jews unto Him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast Thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Then took they up stones to cast at Him: but Jesus hid Himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by." John 8:56-59

Abraham rejoiced to see our day, the day of God's overcomers whose circumcision is in the heart and spirit. As overcomers, we can proclaim, "Before Abraham was we were" because God knew us and called us before the world began. Paul related to the Galatians:

"Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ." Galatians 3:16

Abraham only had one seed, and that seed is Christ, the Anointing. Christ Jesus only has one people, and that is His anointed. As Paul related:

"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His." Romans 8:9

Those who do not have the Spirit of Christ are none of His. Those in Christ are God's Spiritual Israel. Paul related to the Ephesians:

"That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:" Ephesians 2:12

When we were without Christ, we were aliens from the nation of Israel. The word alien means "to be estranged or shut out." We were strangers from God's covenant of promise. But those who are in Christ have become part of the nation of Israel. We are no longer strangers to God's covenant of promise, and our hope is in Christ. And being called in Christ Jesus, we are God's new creation and His chosen people. Praise the Lord!

As stated before, the word Hebrew means "the ones from beyond, and those who have passed over." Those who are part of the first resurrection are those who have passed over from death into life, and walk as the creation in God. Those in Christ Jesus, have truly come from beyond anything man can think or imagine.

Everything Jesus was, He has promised we can have. The anointing Jesus had is available to His people, and we need that anointing if we are to do the greater works Jesus promised we would do.

Once we believe the words God inspired His prophets and apostles to write, then we can claim every promise God made to His ancients. Paul writes to the Galatians:

"And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according the promise." Galatians 3:29

Abraham's seed is God's anointed. Paul wrote to the Colossians:

"Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythians, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all." Colossians 3:11

Those in Christ are His all in all. He has no other people. Only those who walk in Christ's anointing will become heirs to all His promises He made to man. These are the chosen people of God, and we can claim our lineage in Christ before the world began.
