"I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy." Psalm 132:16

How would you get dressed if you were invited to see a Very Important person? Someone that you loved and really longed to see? This would be your first time seeing Him face to face. You wouldn't go with a pair of pants with wrinkles all over them and you wouldn't wear a shirt with stains and spots, would you? Would you go with your shoes untied and mud all over them? Would you go unwashed and not smelling so good? Wouldn't you want to make a good impression?

You would probably put on the best cleaned and pressed shirt and pants that you have. Your hair would be washed and styled, and your shoes would shine. You would make sure that you looked your best.

Do you know that you have been invited to see the King of the whole earth? You will see Him face to face, and it will be important to dress properly.

"And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come." Matthew 22:1-3

The King has invited all His servants to the marriage supper for His Son, Jesus Christ.

In verse 3 it says that they would not come. Many have been invited to see our Lord Jesus Christ face to face and they choose not to go.

"Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage." Matthew 22:9

Those that long to see Him and choose to go, have and opportunity to see Him, but they must be properly dressed.

In Bible times, wedding garments were furnished for the guests of the wedding. You were required to wear this certain apparel if you were a guest.

"And when the King came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen." Matthew 22: 11-14

Why was he not chosen? He didn't have a wedding garment on. This person was not dressed properly for the occasion. He was not dressed with his wedding garment.

"I will greatly rejoice in the lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels." Isaiah 61:10

When we go to meet the King of kings, we will be REQUIRED to dress properly. Today is the day to get ready. If we wait and say to ourselves: "I don't need to read my Bible or to pray today, I'll wait until tomorrow", it is the same as saying: "I'm not really dirty; I'll wait until tomorrow to take a bath and clean up."

"That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word." Ephesians 5:26

We are washed by His Word. When we don't read and study His Word, we become dirty.

"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them." Mark 11:24

"And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:25

Do you want to see your heavenly Father with tresspasses still in your life? Are you praying "Father forginve them, for they know not what they do?" or do you have anger, jealousy, hatred, wrath, and evil thoughts about someone in your heart? Having these feelings puts spots and wrinkles on your clothes.

"Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, withut spot, and blameless." II Peter 3:14

"That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish." Ephesians 5:27

The Lord desires for us to come before Him clean and dressed properly. It should be our desire to be clean and dressed properly also.

You have been invited to see the most important person in your life. What will you be wearing when you meet Him?       Keith Huff - Elder
