REJOICE IN THY YOUTH

Have you ever wondered why you delight [or cheer up] in the things that you do? Have you thought of why you delight in them? Could it be because it lifts you up in your eyes or the eyes of others? Does it just give you something to feel happy about?

Many things of today that people take pleasure in will bring them death.

"Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these God will bring thee into judgment. Therefore, remove sorrow from thy heart and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity." Ecclesiastes 11:9,10

We are the "young man" that needs to decide what we are going to allow our hearts [the center of our feeling] to delight in. We need to make that decision now and follow God. We have to accept Him now while we are young, because we can accept the truth better at this age. When we are older, our hearts can get hardened with self-pride.

We could do as it says in Ecclesiastes and "rejoice" in our youth, doing whatever our heart desires, living in a carefree way. BUT REMEMBER, that scripture goes on to say that God will judge us for it. Living that kind of way in our youth, can only bring sorrow and distress when we are older.

In Ecclesiastes 11:10 it tells us to remove that sorrow or distress from ourselves and put evil [misfortune] from our human nature, because they are worthless pleasures.

"For all that is in the world, the lusts of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away and the lusts thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever." I John 2:16,17

When your youth and childhood give you pleasure, what is it really giving you? Are the pleasures of this world, really worth the time you are wasting? Could you possibly be pleasuring in your youth because you don't want to face the trials and responsibilities of "growing up"? Do you already have so much self-pride to admit to yourself that you need to "grow up"?

The best decision we can make while we are young is to "rejoice" in the will of God. We have a promise that if we do the will of God, we will abide forever. We will be judged for what we make of our lives now. Wouldn't it be a "pleasure" to be judged and found "NOT GUILTY"???

"Delight thyself also in the Lord' and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Psalm 37:4

This is how we find pleasure! Let's be that people separate from the lusts of the world, and find our desires from God so we can abide forever.

COMMUNICATE - FORGET NOT!!!

We live in a day where we have a mass of communication systems Telephones, C.B.'s, walkie talkies, car phones, pagers, telegraph, computers, T. V., record players, cassette players, newspapers, magazines, books, and more.

We have trains, airplanes, trucks, vans, and cars that carry mail 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

But do you know what the main problem is between people?

COMMUNICATION

"But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased." Hebrews 13:16

"Well pleased" means to gratify entirely. We gratify God when we do good and communicate.

There are many reasons that we don't talk to each other. We hold grudges toward each other or we are ashamed to say how we feel. Sometimes we think that what we say will be put down. Then there are other times when we just put off talking, not thinking that it's important to communicate. But it is important to communicate, especially with your Dad and Mom. Many problems arise because we don't talk to Dad and Mom first. We try to do things on our own, and make decisions without asking our parents for their advice.

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;). That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth." Ephesians 6:1-3

OBEY YOUR PARENTS IN THE LORD: FOR THIS IS RIGHT.

"Obey" means to hear, to listen attentively, hearken.

The Lord is speaking, "Hear children, listen to your parents for this is right. Honour thy father and mother by listening to them and doing what they say. Don't shut them out when they talk, obey your parents. Do you want things to go well in your life? Obey. Listen to your parents and talk to them."

"But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased." Hebrews 13:16

Be well pleasing to God, do good and communicate with your parents.
