KING OF THE MOUNTAIN
To play "King of the Mountain" The King on top has to throw his opponents down off the hill or high place and not let them get to the top. Whoever stays on top is "King of the Mountain".
Sometimes we think we are better than God or we could be a better King of the Mountain like Satan did; but he got thrown down from God's Kingdom (mountain). This will also happen to us if we think we are better than God.
When we pray and our prayer is not met or if something goes wrong we think that God is not ruling his mountain very well, so we try to get to the top of the mountain by taking things in our own hands, but when we get things in our hands we come to find out that we can't run things very good at all.
Maybe the reason our prayer is not met or bad things happen, is because God is either working in our life or he is trying to show us something. So don't think your better than God or the King of the Mountain because maybe he is working an your life or he is trying to show you something, and always remember that God is king of the mountain. Is Christ Denied in us?
"Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." Mark 8:34b
Jesus was speaking here that in order for us to follow him, we are to deny ourselves - to separate, reject, refuse - ourselves. To completely forget our old man nature and follow him.
"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 10:32-33
You should ask yourself a question: "Do I disown, separate, reject, or refuse God before family, friends or anyone else" If so, God will disown, separate, reject and refuse us from His Kingdom.
"Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation,; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." Mark 8:38
Are you ashamed of God? Are you ashamed of what he is doing in your life? Are you ashamed to pray in public, to minister to others, to teach or preach His word, to admit that you are a Christian? If you are ashamed, in any of these areas, then you are denying Christ in your life.
In Matthew 26:34,35,69-75 Jesus said unto Peter that he would deny him three times and later in the chapter we see that Peter did. What yould you do if you were in the place of Peter? Your desire may not be to deny him, but what do our actions say?
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. " II Timothy 2:15
"So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. " Romans 1:15-16
Can you truly say in your heart "I am not ashamed. So much as in me I am ready to preach the Gospel." Robert Bixler elder
