OUR FORGOTTEN MOTTO

What has become of our mottos; "One nation under God" or "In God we trust"? They have disappeared. Both mottos are good, moral, Christian mottos, but the world has forgotten them.

Instead of being one nation under God, we are becoming many nations under man. Instead of our trust and goods being under God, they have become under the government.

This nation is starting to fall under Socialism. (Where all the manufacturing and production are under government, and the community is supposed to share work and rewards.) This is the key to Communism.

Ronald Reagan once said; "We've been creeping closer to socialism, a system that someone once said works only in heaven where is isn't needed, and in hell where they've already got it."

Everybody says that there is no way Socialism can come into the United States. It is already here and we are blind to see it. Instead, all anybody sees is how to make more money.

People today are not saying; "In God we trust." It is the money on which these words are printed on that we are trusting and loving. The Bible says that the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. (I Timothy 6:10)

When we start loving money, we are heading for a long hard fall. Who or what we love is where our trust will be.

Everyone is always worried about what someone can do for them. John F, Kennedy said; "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country." You can look at this two ways: serving your country, or serving your fellow-man.

We need to put these Godly mottos and morals back into our lives, and follow God with our whole heart.     Andy Huff - 17

LET US BE FREE

Almost since time began their has been people in bondage; kingdoms subduing other kingdoms and making them do what they want to benefit the controlling kingdom. Even in the time of Jesus, Rome controlled the whole known world and made them pay tribute or taxes which is a form of bondage.

But God's desire for His people is to be Free.

"If the Son therefore shall make you free ye shall be free indeed." John 8:36

When we accept Christ as our Savior, then He has made us free and our freedom comes from Him.

"Now the Lord is that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." II Corinthians 3:17

He has given us liberty just like Moses, a Hebrew, walked in and out of the presence of Pharaoh. Pharaoh couldn't throw him in prison, he couldn't even make a slave out of him because Moses served a different master. He served God and God took care of him.

But government is not the only way to be in bondage.

"Know ye not, to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servant ye are to whom you obey; whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness." Romans 6:16 - 18

We can put ourselves in bondage by practicing sin. If we yield ourselves to alcohol, drugs, or sex, then we become in bondage to those things and have to serve them when they call. This kind of service brings forth death.

Let us not be ensnared with the yoke of slavery again, but let us yield ourselves unto Christ. When we listen to Him and do what He says, we become His servants; spending time in prayer, seeking Him, reading His Word and fellowshipping with His people; just doing those things that make us grow in Him. This kind of service brings forth life.

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entanged again with the yoke of bondage." Galatians 5:1

The wages of sin is death, but Christ came to give us life and to give it more abundantly. There is no freedom in serving government , self, or sin. It only earns you the right to die in your sins. But serving God gives us great freedom from the things that can harm us. Serving God gives us the right to live forever!
