PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD

Ephesians 6:10 - 17  "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.

Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand in the evil day, and having done all to stand."

We need to put on the armor of God so when we are around the world their words and actions can't harm us. The more armor (protection) we have on, the more confident we are to stand up to the enemy. Here is what we must do:

verse 14, "Stand therefore having your loins girt about with truth..." The loins are located on the lower part of your back. We have to protect our loins with truth. Telling the truth is not easy to do. Especially when you get into trouble and your dad asked you to tell the truth but you think you will get into trouble. So you tell a lie but nine times out of ten you will get into more trouble if you lie. We need to tell the truth at all times. If we don't have our truth to protect us, then the enemy can find fault with us.

verse 14b, "and have the breastplate of righteousness ..." We need to have some righteousness so we can have the most important part, the breastplate. It covers the very heart of man.

verse 15, "and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace..." we need to have our feet shod with peace. When we face satan we will need to have peace and believe instead of being afraid. When you are afraid, you can't think straight. Be sure that when the wrath comes, to put on your peace shoes.

verse 16, "Above all taking the shield of faith whereby ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." What is faith? Well, go to Hebrews 11:1 and 6..."Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." We cannot see faith, but we can see the evidence of our faith.

" But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." We have to have faith if we want to Know God.

verse 17, "and take the helmet of salvation...." We have to have salvation to enter in; there is no other way.

verse 17b, "And the sword of the spirit which is the word of God..." The sword is God's Word, it cuts out all the bad things and takes all sharp points out and afterwards it will be smooth.

The armor of God is our only defense against the wiles (tricks) of the devil. When we have our armor in place, he cannot defeat us!     Kyle Abraham - 11

TOMORROW

Proverbs 27:1 "Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."

Did you ever hear Jesus say, "Wait until tomorrow?" NO, Jesus never said "I'll do it some other time."

Are we like Jesus and doing everything we can today and not saying 'wait until tomorrow?' Everybody says wait until tomorrow. But in today's live, tomorrow never comes. Have you ever had somebody owe you money and they always said, "wait until tomorrow or next week"? Do you ever do that to somebody else? Or your mom or dad if they ask you to do something? Everybody is probably guilty of doing this.

What if you were Peter and you told Jesus that you would serve Him tomorrow but on the next day Jesus was crucified. Now what are you going to do? What if this happens with friends or mom or dad. When you promise somebody something you should keep your promise today and tomorrow. If you don't pay off your small debt today but say "wait until tomorrow" nobody will trust you.

Matthew 18:23 - 35 - "Therefore is the kingdom of heaven like unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. But forasmuch he had not to pay, his Lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience, and I will pay thee all. But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, which owed him an hundred pence and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat saying, pay me that thou owest. And his fellow servant fell down at his feet, saying, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. And he would not: But went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their Lord all that was done, then his Lord, after that his Lord called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desired me. Shouldest thou not also have compassion on thy fellow servant, even as I had pity on thee? And his Lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly father do also unto you, if ye from your heart forgive not every one his brother their trespasses."

Are we like the man here who owed a big debt and kept saying he would pay and fell on his knees and begged so that the debt was forgotten ? But he then went out and found a man who owed him a small debt, and had the man thrown in jail until he paid. Are we going to be like that man? Have you ever owed somebody something that you could never pay and he forgave you? But then you remembered someone who owed you a little and you wouldn't leave them alone until they gave you something?

Jesus paid the highest price for us. Jesus was whipped, spit on, tortured, and embarrassed. But He still forgave. Luke 23:34 When Jesus was bleeding , dying, hurting, and almost dead, He asked the father to forgive those who hurt Him. Do we forgive those who hurt us, who owe us something or always put you off?

If Jesus could forgive those who killed Him; if He could forgive there MANY sins, why can't we forgive those who owe us little?     Jason Huff - 14
