Drugs Don't Open Doors
They Close Them

As we are aware, drugs are becoming very rampant in these last days. Drugs and alcohol have been around since the beginning of time. Only it has gotten worse and worse in the last 10 years.

As a former drug addict of over 22 years and only being 32 years old, I know first hand what drugs and alcohol can do to ones' mind. With me and many others it started out with just a little pot and a little beer. When I was very young, I had told myself I would never do anything other than a little pot and beer. But by the time I was 12 years old, I had graduated to harder drugs and harder alcohol; thinking this was what I had to do to be accepted by my friends and schoolmates. How wrong I was!!!!! I had chosen the wrong friends from the start. This led to crime to support my growing habit, which at the age of 29 led to prison. It was in prison that I gave my life to God!

Here in prison, in the prison chapel, I discovered real friends, friends who cared about me. Not for what I had done but what I am going to do now. I have been drug and alcohol free for almost 2 years now and I feel the best I have ever felt in 32 years.

People ask what we can do to cut down on drugs and crime. Government, Legislators, and State and Federal Police ask for millions of dollars to fight drugs and crime with no real solutions. They say that drugs and crime have dropped. But I can tell you different with over 100 people going to prison a day compared to five years ago with about 100 a month going to prison. The real answer is God; and this can only happen with prayer. We, as a body of Christ, must intercede with prayer. Just as Christ Jesus intercedes for us, we must also intercede for those who are lost. What the Government, Legislators, and State and Federal Police don't realize or understand is that 2 Timothy 3:1-4 states:

"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God."

They try to fight the war on drugs and crime with weapons of the world. But this is not of the world but straight from the father of lies, Satan, and we, as the body of Christ, know the only way; for though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of this world. On the contrary, we have divine power to demolish strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:3-4). These strongholds include drugs, alcohol, hate, crime, and sex among our little ones. I hope that you and others will join me and the brothers here in the prisons and pray for the stronghold of Satan to be destroyed. As Paul said to Timothy in 1 Timothy 6:12

"Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses." RSV

This can only start when we join in prayer as one just as Jesus wanted. You are welcome to write me anytime at:
