"Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord;" Ephesians 5:19

"Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Ephesians 5:20

Paul wrote this to the saints at Ephesus and to the faithful in Christ Jesus. He told them to speak to themselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. He wanted them to have their minds on the Bible and on the scriptures, singing and making melody in their hearts to the Lord. He encouraged them to SPEAK AND SING THE WORDS OF THE LORD.

"The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times." Psalm 12:6

The Words of the Lord are pure Words. Are your thoughts on the Words of the Lord or are they on the words of the world?

Look at the words: WORD - WORLD. The only difference in these two words is the letter L. According to John, the L stands for LUST.

"For all that is in the world, the LUST of the flesh, and the LUST of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." 1 John 2:16

When we let the lust of the world come into our mind, that is what we are going to think about. Our thoughts will be on the lusts of the flesh and the eyes.

We live in a time that is the same as it was in the days of Noah.

"And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." Genesis 6:5

Their thoughts were continually evil, they weren't thinking about God and His Words, their minds were on the things of the world.

"And it repented the Lord that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart." Genesis 6:6

Is the Lord grieving when He looks at your heart and sees what you are thinking?

"And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord." Genesis 6:7,8

The Lord saved Noah because his thoughts were not evil continually. It was said of him:

"And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;" 2 Peter 2:5

Noah was a preacher of righteousness. His mind was on the right things. He had his mind on the pure Words of the Lord. We know that the Lord destroyed man by the flood of waters. And the Bible clearly states that He is going to destroy man again by fire.

"For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

"But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings: and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall." Malachi 4:1,2

The Lord is coming back soon, when He comes will He find your mind on Him? I pray that He does, that you will find grace in the Eyes of the Lord.

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." 2 Peter 3:9,10

The Lord had to wait 100 years for Noah to prepare the ark. The world was wicked and waxing more wicked while Noah was working and preaching righteousness. They laughed and scorned Noah because of His righteous thoughts, but that day came when it started to rain.

They are laughing and scorning today at those whose thoughts are stayed on Him. But we have peace that they don't know of. God is about ready to pour out His wrath on mankind. The Lord is going to come as a thief in the night to those whose thoughts are continually evil.

Brethren I pray that your thoughts are stayed on Him. Pray for your brothers and sisters, we live in a day where sin is abounding.

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever thins are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8
