Do you want blessed?
Do you want peace in your life?
Do you want to eat of the good of the land?

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: Job 5:17

Happy means blessed. Blessed are they whom God correcteth.  There are times when we're not cheerful and joyful when we are being corrected, but we are blessed because of His correction. As the all-wise Solomon proclaimed:

"My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:  For whom the LORD loveth He correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her." Proverbs 3:11-15

Despise not the chastening of the Lord. Despise means, to reject, refuse, and to run from.

Running away from His correction only hurts us. We will never mature in the Lord as long as we keep running away from His correction.

For whom the Lord loveth He correcteth. He wants to change the wrong in our lives to the right  way of life. A righteous walk in God. If we refuse and reject His correction, we will stay in our  wrongs and never become right in the sight of our Father, Christ Jesus our Lord.

Neither be weary of His correction. Are you tired of His correction? Are you disliking His love for you to become what He wants you to be?

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby." Hebrews  12:11

Every one wants peace, but they refuse the One who can give them the peaceable fruit of righteousness. When He changes us from our wrongs, and brings us to a rightness, then comes PEACE, the peace that passeth all understanding, having peace with our God.

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.  If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:   But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it." Isaiah 1:18-20

Let us reason together. The Lord wants to reason together with you. That means you and Him working together, letting Him decide, judge, convince, and correct. The sins in our life are making us miss the mark of God. What is the mark of God? The mark of God is being right with God, having our robe of righteousness on. It is being white as snow, having clean hands, and a pure heart. If we are willing and obedient we shall eat the good of the land, but if we refuse and rebel, we shall be devoured with the sword.

Despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty. Keith Huff - Elder

So, you want to rebell?
Well, go ahead - yell, yell, yell!
Your soul may be quiet for a spell,
But for the rest of eternity,
You will live in hell.

Now it's much better to obey,
Listen to God, do what He has to say.
He's the Master, He'll guide your way -
To a place of Peace,
You can enjoy every day.      Kathy Huff
