Know God  -  No Fear

No God  -  Know Fear

"I have called upon Thee, for Thou wilt hear me, O God: incline Thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. Shew Thy marvelous lovingkindness, O Thou that safest by Thy right hand them which put their trust in Thee from those that rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of Thy wings." Psalm 17:6-8

David was praying unto the Lord and in verse 7 he knew that the Lord saves those that put their trust in Him.

In verse 8 David asked the Lord to keep him in the very center of His vision. David wanted the Lord to continually watch him. To be the very center of His attention. David did not want to hide from the Lord, like Adam and his wife did after they had sinned in the garden, Genesis 3:8.

Also in verse 8 David asked the Lord to hide him under the shadow of His wings. Jesus also talked about hiding us under his wings.

" often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!" Matthew 23:37

Don't be like Adam and his wife, staying away from the Lord and His protection. Don't stone those that are sent to you. Those that speak mercy and judgment and God's word.

"The Lord's portion is His people. And those that He can lead and instruct, the Lord will keep you as the apple of His eye." Deuteronomy 32:9&10

There is no fear to those that are in the center of His vision. I see many shirts and bumper stickers that say "no fear". I know that when trouble comes, to those that are not in the center of His eye, there will be MUCH fear.

"And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I am naked; and I hid myself." Genesis 3:9&10

Adam told the Lord when he heard His voice that he was afraid because he was naked. Adam had lost his covering because of sin. And those that are still hiding from the Lord, because of their sin, are hiding from the very center of His eye.

A long time ago in a land named Sodom and Gomorrah there were evil people and it wasn't making God very pleased. But God had a man there He needed to get out, so He waited one more day before the fire came down.

...Consider Your Ways...

See, Lot was a man with whom God was pleased. But, remember, his wife had "look-back disease". Instantly she turned to a pillar of salt. She couldn't trust God enough. Lot did, and he survived. But behind him the whole town died.

...Consider Your Ways...

Are you a man of God that He wants to protect? Or are you the sin He wants to destroy? Are you going to sin or obey? Get right or get left? It's your choice to make.
